I am directed by the Board of Trade to enclose herewith, for the information of the Secretary of State, a copy of a letter from Messrs. Markby Stewart and Wadesons asking for information regarding the procedure adopted by the Board in dealing with application

for exemption from the obligations imposed by Section 145 of the Companies Act 1929. The Board do not consider

that it is desirable this information should be furnished

and subject to any observations which the Colonial Office may desire to make in the matter the Board propose to inform Messrs. Markby Stewart and Wadesons that they regret that they are unable to furnish the desired

information.

I am to add that if the Attorney General at Hong Kong requires any information on this question the Board

will be pleased to furnish it.
